Milton Speid
Director of Development, Eastern Region, Silicon Valley Community Foundation
Based in Silicon Valley Community Foundation’s (SVCF) New York City office, Milton rejoins SVCF as the Director of Development for the Eastern Region. He is responsible for supporting the foundation’s work as a global social enterprise and the premier philanthropic partner for charitably minded individuals and corporations.
Prior to returning to SVCF, he was the Head of Donor Engagement & Vice President of Development for North America at Epic Foundation, a global NGO committed to improving the way individuals give back to charitable causes. Before Epic, Milton worked at TED Talks with leading fortune 500 companies to share their best ideas with the world. During his initial tenure at SVCF, Milton advised corporate clients on their global corporate responsibility strategies. While at Bank of America Charitable Foundation, he was responsible for crafting and executing the community and employee engagement plan for the San Francisco Bay Area.
As the son of Jamaican immigrants, Milton has a personal commitment to poverty alleviation and cultivating relationships that maximize resources to achieve the greatest impact. He holds a Psychology Degree from The University of Hartford where he captained the Men’s Soccer Team. He also serves on several advisory boards, including the Madison Council, a volunteer arm of the Madison Square Boys & Girls Club, Seeds of Africa, and We Are Family Foundation. He currently lives in Brooklyn, New York.
